In total some 53 Members & Guests participated in the event. Unfortunately, the event got off to a bad start due to strong North Easterly wind which prevented the Boat entering the open waters between Avonmouth Locks and the River mouth.

Never-the-less, arrangements were changed at the last minute and with the aid of a bus. The cruise, travelled downstream from the Cumberland basin to the Avon Bridge, turned and returned upstream for the popular “Fish & Chip” supper at the Pumphouse.

The Bagheera leads the way for the Tower Belle to cruise upstream to the Cumberland Basin.

 

Added value was gained to this year’s event by an on-board commentary by Louise Dixey, the wife of a Hobbler, local historian, and River enthusiast.
